Four young men, two of them arrested, were charged today with “first degree murder” of rapper XXXTentacion, shot dead on June 18 at the exit of a motorcycle shop in Deerfield Beach, north of Miami. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office reported today.
A Broward grand jury brought the charges against Dedrick Devonshay Williams and Michael Boatwright, both 22, and Trayvon Newsome, 20, and Robert Allen, 22, who are fugitives.
The four were also charged with the crime of armed robbery.
The researchers pointed out that Boatwright and Newsome were the ones who faced armed Jahseh Onfroy, artistically known as XXXTentacion.
Boatwright was arrested on July 5 on drug charges and days later was given an arrest warrant for the singer’s murder. Meanwhile, Williams was arrested on June 20.
Hundreds of people attended on June 27 to pay tribute and give their last goodbye to the rapper in a sports pavilion in Sunrise (South Florida), where the coffin with his remains was veiled throughout that day.
After his death, one of the themes of XXX Sensation, “Sad!”, Came to head the Billboard Hot 100 list.
The song achieved a record 10.4 million online views on the Spotify platform.
