The Washington Post recently revealed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Securities Commission (SEC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) of the United States have joined the investigation carried out by the Department of Justice on the undue exchange of data between Facebook and the British firm Cambridge Analytica.

Recall that Cambridge Analytica used the information of at least 87 million users that was collected by a personality test on Facebook called “This is Your Digital Life”, converting that data into algorithms and messages that were distributed to influence the vote during the Presidential elections of 2016 in favor of the now President Donald Trump.

“We have given public testimony, answered questions and promised to continue our help as he continues his work,” a Facebook spokesman told Reuters Monday night, saying he was cooperating with authorities in different countries.

As a result of the report on the integration of the three new agencies to the investigation, Facebook shares fell 3.8 percent to $ 193.54 , after falling more than 4 percent after the opening of the New York Stock Exchange.
