When Apple releases an update for our Apple Watch, we must plan very well when we are going to install it because it becomes very frustrating how slow the software download is going. That is why in this article we bring you some tips so you can accelerate the installation of updates on your Apple Watch.
So you can accelerate the updates on your Apple Watch
In most cases where these updates become eternal it has nothing to do with the saturation of Apple’s servers, but with the speed of transferring files from the iPhone to our smart watch that is very slow to use the Bluetooth connection. As faq-mac collects, the best way to accelerate this data transfer is obviously to use the WiFi connection, but it is something that we will have to force.
To force our iPhone and our Apple Watch to communicate over Wi-Fi, they obviously must be connected to the same network. Once you are connected to the same WiFi network, you can now go to the Watch application and start downloading the update as you usually do.
Once the download begins after verification of the device, the message “Remaining time…” will appear. When this point is reached go to Settings and turn off Bluetooth. It is very important that you deactivate the Bluetooth from Settings and not from the control center, since it would not be completely deactivated.
When you have deactivated the Bluetooth, go back to the Watch application and a pop-up message will be issued warning you to reconnect both devices. You should ignore this message by clicking on “Cancel”.
With all these steps, we will force the iPhone to transmit the data to Apple Watch through WiFi, which is much faster than via Bluetooth. With this we will make the update of a new version of watchOS much faster.
