WhatsApp, perhaps the most popular instant messaging application for smartphones, was updated in the App Store some time ago to receive a better integration with iOS. Thanks to this update, Siri can now read the new messages that we have received through the service. In addition, several aspects of the groups and calls are improved.
How Siri works with WhatsApp exactly
Before you can use this and other Siri features within the application, you must first enable Siri support for WhatsApp in Settings> Siri> Application Support. Keep in mind that for this functionality you not only need to have a more or less recent version of WhatsApp but also have iOS 10.3 or later.
- Activate Siri by Oye Siri or by pressing the Home button.
- Ask him what messages there are on WhatsApp or something similar.
- Siri will tell you who you have new messages from and start reading them one by one.
- After each message it will allow you to answer the other person with a voice command.
Another improvement that includes WhatsApp since the last update is the possibility to see more types of videos as floating windows in the app. In this way, it is not necessary to leave it to visualize them.
Remember that both this update and the app itself are free. You can download WhatsApp from the App Store on your iPhone, however there is no version for iPad, Mac or Apple Watch. If you still do not have any of these functions, try to delete the application and reinstall it. But make a backup of the chats before.
