The leaks have not gone unnoticed to Samsung’s Android Go mobile. For several weeks we have known about its existence and we have information about its characteristics. Today we leave you with a summary of everything we have seen so far on this device, which will be the first of the Korean company to have Android Go. It will come with the applications created by Google to run better in this system and its hardware will be low-end to offer a really competitive price. Yesterday we told you one of the worst news about this mobile, which, we revisit today.
Samsung has several low-end devices in the market. They are not recommended, knowing what the competition is capable of offering, but they improve significantly each year. With Android Go things could improve if Samsung expanded marketing to European countries, for example. At the moment India is the only country with an officially certified model.
A design of the Galaxy J series, since it is a Galaxy J2 Core
Yesterday we could see some image of this device. In them it was appreciated that Android Go ran, but also details of its design. It does not have an infinite screen or very surprising lines. This terminal has the same design as the Galaxy J 2017 series, mainly because it belongs to this range. Samsung has not released a terminal with Android Go and created another series of terminals, but we have a Galaxy J2 Core with Android Go.
The design is simple and leaves us with a plastic back and a camera in the back. Although it is not confirmed, it is likely that it has no fingerprint sensor, although there are physical buttons on the front. We can not expect too much from this design, although it is on par with the rest of Android Go we see in the market.
Some features in the line of competition
The features of this device are not very striking. Being a low-end mobile that runs Android Go does not need too much to work well, so Samsung has reduced the maximum specifications to sell it at a cheaper price. We can not expect a large resolution and at the moment we do not know how much GB will have its storage. It is possible that 8 GB, although at the moment is unknown.
- 5-inch Super AMOLED screen
- Exynos 7570 processor
- 1 GB of RAM
- 8 GB of storage?
- 8 megapixel rear camera
- 5 megapixel front camera
- 4G LTE connectivity
- Audio jack and microUSB
- 2,600 mAh battery
- Android 8.1 Oreo under Android Go
These specifications are quite common in Android Go devices, since on paper they do not need much more to be able to work correctly. The Exynos 7570 processor is not too powerful, but it may be somewhat above average in this type of terminal.
Android Go with Samsung Experience and without Android Stock
One of the advantages of mobile phones with Android Go that we have in the market is that they have Android Stock. The layer is very similar to that of Google Pixel, but without having a mobile of 900 euros. We all expected Samsung to launch this mobile with Android Stock, something quite iconic in the company.
This will not be the case, as the leaks this week have shown us images of the device running Samsung Experience and not Android Stock. This layer is not incompatible with Android Go, so the mobile can run the Go applications and has cuts in the interface to run correctly. Of course, do not expect to enjoy Android Stock in this Galaxy J2 Core with Android Go.
A very economical price and the possibility of seeing it in Europe
Like any self-respecting Android Go, this Galaxy J2 Core will have a low price. It is very likely that below 100 euros, although nothing is confirmed yet. The filing date has not been confirmed either, although the device has already been certified to be sold in India. It is possible that during the month of July the company will start selling it in this market.
Later it could reach Europe, since the model with letter F has been seen by some certification. This is not official, so we will have to wait a few more weeks to confirm it and be able to offer the complete list of specifications, price and availability.
This device opens the door to other very important brands in telephony to offer terminals with Android Go at very affordable prices. We have seen how Huawei will also launch one and LG as well. They are interesting bets for users with less budget and for what we could try in the MWC they offer a very good experience.
