Christine Giampaoli and Luy Galán will compete again in Spain this July, participating in the Baja Aragón with South Side’s Side by Side, as announced by the pilot on social networks. After more than a year of experience competing in the United States and Mexico with the Dynamic Offroad Racing team, the women’s duo will take the test of the World Championship of ATVs before the public of our country.
During the 2017 season – its start with Dynamic Offroad Racing in a three-year agreement – they played several rally events, such as the Rallye de Cervera with a Peugeot 107 by Mavisa Sport and the RallyRACC with one of the Peugeot 208 1.2 PureTech of the Volant RACC . Since then they have focused on competing in raid races, where they have already managed to place themselves in the Top 10 of their category despite their limited experience in the discipline.
The frame they will use on this occasion is the Can-Am Maverick X3 X RS from South Racing, a kit of this Side by Side model that introduced the team in mid-2017. It has a Rotax 900 ACE turbo engine with 154 horsepower and 152 Nm with an empty weight of 850 kilograms – it also has the possibility of carrying a CVT gearbox as standard.
In comparison, the Can-Am X3 used in North America in the ranks of the team commanded by Paul Kraus has 220 horses, in addition to a suspension kit with longer travel. As a preparation for the Aragonese test, Giampaoli and Galán have moved to the Masía Pelarda circuit in Catalonia, where they have already tested at other times.
