The classic Blackberry but with current components
The Blackberry Key2 is a mobile made of aluminum with a rough touch in the back. We have a body with good grip, scratch resistance thanks to Gorilla Glass and a 2.5D glass to give a rounded touch to the screen and integrate with the frames.
Unlike many current devices, the screen of the Blackberry Key2 has 4.5 inches in a 3: 2 format with 1620 x 1080 pixels, equivalent to the FullHD resolution. We have about 434 pixels per inch, which guarantees a high level of sharpness.
Inside we find a Snapdragon 660 processor with 6GB of RAM. It is a more than powerful combination, especially considering the size of the screen. For storage we have 64GB and 128GB versions that will be expandable through microSD.
The battery is 3,500 mAh plus Quick Charge 3.0 from Qualcomm. Another amount also very generous and where we are informed of an intelligent system that learns from the daily load habits and will recommend us the most efficient way to load it.
Regarding the photographic section we have for the first time in the company double rear camera. It is a main sensor of 12 megapixels, PDAF, image stabilization and portrait mode thanks to a secondary lens. We also find the SuperZoom option and compatibility with Google Lens. For the front camera you opt for its part of an eight megapixel sensor.
But if there are two key sections in this Blackberry Key2 those are the keyboard and the software. First of all we have a physical keyboard where the size of the keys has been increased up to 20% with respect to the previous generation. We also have fingerprint reader on the keyboard with improved accuracy.
To all we must add the key Speed Key that allows to configure diverse shortcuts. Up to 52 adaptable routes that can go from the most used applications to contacts. An addition that reminds us in part of that Boom Key that was added on the Alcatel Idol 4.
Android 8.1 Oreo is the software version found in this Blackberry Key2. We have the latest version of Android, with a very clean layer but have added privacy and security improvements of Blackberry as the DTEK application. This application includes vulnerability checking features to let us know if the phone is still secure.
Regarding the browser, we have Mozilla Firefox Focus and an encrypted personal folder that we can only access by fingerprint or password. Blackberry offers its own systems but also allies with Google to introduce this device in the Android Enterprise Recommended program, remembering the profile of the audience to which this mobile is directed.
Versions and price of the Blackberry Key2
The Blackberry Key2 will begin to be sold globally this same month of June at an official price of 649 euros. It will be available in black and silver colors and with two storage versions, one part of the 64GB and another with 128GB.
